Rumors that suggested that Akshay Kumar’s next year release Airlift movie will witness a clash have been proved to be wrong and the actor has himself did rubbish the reports lately. The release dare of Airlift movie will remain the same and no changes have been made to it. Earlier, the beginning of the New Year was supposed to witness a clash between two biggies- Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol will be up with his much delayed sequel to Ghayal that won him a National award. The title of the film is Ghayal Once Again. While Akshay Kumar is all geared up to release his movie Airlift, which is a Gulf War drama.
Earlier, Ghayal Once Again was scheduled to release this Diwali, but the makers postponed the idea since the movie would then have to face a huge competition from Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The makers wanted to avoid this clash and this was the reason why the movie was postponed to January. This made the speculations of the clash soar high as the makers were then searching for a date around the Republic Day weekend to release their film. Airlift movie too will release around Republic Day weekend since the collections soar high in the holiday period. Airlift release date is slated for a 22nd January release date and this caused quite a flutter among the trade analysts. The Sunny Deol film too was planned to be released on the same date but now the clouds have settled down as the clash has been avoided, paving way for the success of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Airlift.
Ghayal Once Again will now release on 15 January 2016, a week earlier before Airlift releases. The release date of Airlift movie remains undisturbed. This was confirmed by Soha Ali Khan, the leading lady of Ghayal Once Again. She said in a recent statement, “Yes, we are coming on 15th January. It is going to be one mega start to the year for sure. Expect a dramatic encounter.” With two big-budget films releasing back to back, it will surely give a mega start to the New Year. Airlift is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and also stars Nimrat Kaur in the pivotal role.
